Most people never think about their condenser coils. Out of sight, out of mind - especially when the unit is sitting on a rooftop. But what you can't see is still costing you money. Clogged coils force your system to work harder than it needs to, driving up energy use and putting extra wear on components that aren't cheap to replace.

Here's what we were working with on this one. The coils were packed with dirt, debris, and buildup that had clearly been accumulating for a while. That kind of restriction chokes the airflow your system depends on to reject heat properly. When that process gets blocked, your AC has to run longer cycles just to hit the same temperature - and it still might not get there.

We did a full coil comb-out on this rooftop unit. That means pulling the panel, getting in close, and really clearing out the fins - not just a quick rinse. The difference in airflow after a thorough cleaning like this is noticeable immediately. The system can breathe again, and it doesn't have to fight so hard to do its job.

This is the kind of maintenance that tends to get skipped, but it matters more than most people realize. Keeping your coils clean is one of the best things you can do to extend the life of the equipment and keep your energy bills in check. It's not glamorous work, but it's the kind of detail that separates a well-maintained system from one that's quietly failing.

Regular HVAC maintenance like this is a big part of what we do at Perfect Degree Heating and Cooling. Whether it's a rooftop package unit or a standard split system, we get into the details that actually keep things running right.
