Old equipment tells a story. An open furnace cabinet full of exposed wiring, aging components, and years of wear - that's what we started with on this one. The system had done its job, but it was well past the point of reliable performance. The homeowner was dealing with uneven airflow, inconsistent comfort, and air that just felt dry and stale. Sound familiar?
We pulled the old unit and replaced the whole setup with a Lennox 5-ton Elite Series split system. That means a brand-new outdoor condenser and a new Lennox gas furnace handling the air handling side inside. The 5-ton capacity is sized to move the right amount of air through the home - not too much, not too little. Getting that sizing right matters more than most people realize. An oversized or undersized system will run inefficiently and wear out faster.
On top of the split system, we added a whole-home humidifier tied directly into the air handler. Here in the desert Southwest, dry air is a real problem. It dries out your sinuses, your skin, your wood furniture - and it actually makes cold air feel colder, which means you end up cranking the heat more than you need to. A humidifier built into your HVAC system fixes that without any extra effort on your part. It runs automatically and keeps the air in your home at a comfortable moisture level year-round.
The install was clean from start to finish. New refrigerant lines were properly insulated and run along the wall to the outdoor unit. All the connections at the condenser were made tight, the gas line to the new furnace was secured, and the system was commissioned and tested before we left. We also left a maintenance reminder tag on the unit so this homeowner knows exactly when service is due - and who to call.
This is what a full HVAC installation looks like when it's done right. New equipment, proper sizing, better air quality, and a system that the homeowner can count on. If your setup is starting to feel unreliable or you're noticing hot and cold spots around the house, it might be time to have a conversation about what an upgrade could do for your comfort.
