This one was a full Lennox 3-ton split system install - attic air handler, outdoor condenser, the whole setup. Attic installs are one of those jobs where cutting corners is easy to do and hard to spot. We don't operate that way.

Here's what we were working with: the air handler goes up through the attic access, gets set on a proper drain pan, and has to be connected cleanly to the existing ductwork. Every line connection, every drain, every electrical tie-in matters. A sloppy attic install might run for a while, but it will cost you later - in efficiency, in repairs, or both.

The outdoor condenser is where the heat rejection actually happens. Getting the refrigerant lines routed correctly and the unit sitting level on a solid pad isn't just about looks. It protects the compressor and keeps the system running the way it was designed to. Lennox builds solid equipment, but even the best equipment underperforms when it's put in carelessly.

With a 3-ton system like this, sizing matters too. Too small and the unit runs constantly without ever catching up. Too large and it short-cycles, leaving the home humid and uncomfortable. Getting that match right between the home's load and the equipment capacity is part of what separates a good HVAC installation from one you'll regret.

A properly installed system should give you years of reliable performance without constant service calls. That's what we're after on every job - equipment that works the way it should, from day one.
