Here's what we were working with - a deteriorating duct system running through a crawl space. The old ductwork was beat up, falling apart in sections, and wrapped in degraded insulation that wasn't doing much of anything anymore. That kind of setup doesn't just hurt your comfort. It drives up energy costs and puts serious strain on whatever system is trying to push air through it.
We pulled out the old duct system and ran all-new ductwork through the crawl space, properly insulated to R-4.4 - you can actually see it marked right on the new duct. That spec matters. It means the air your system is conditioning stays that way as it travels through the house, instead of losing heat or cool to the crawl space environment around it. Clean runs, solid connections, done right.
On the equipment side, we installed a brand-new Lennox 4-ton heat pump package unit. Package units are a smart choice for homes like this - everything is self-contained in one outdoor cabinet, which simplifies the setup and reduces potential points of failure. The new unit sits level on a proper pad, positioned tight against the home for a clean, efficient installation.
When the ductwork is failing, even a brand-new unit won't perform the way it should. That's the thing most homeowners don't realize. The equipment and the delivery system have to work together. Replacing both at the same time is the only way to actually get the efficiency and comfort you're paying for.
If your system is running constantly, your rooms aren't heating or cooling evenly, or your energy bills keep climbing - that's usually a sign something upstream is wrong. Could be the equipment, could be the ducts, or both. We can figure out exactly what's going on and get it sorted.
